2018 Set a Tragic World Record

In Culture, Front Page, Unborn, World News by Allen West

Greetings, everyone! I pray y’all had a great and happy start to 2019!

One of the things I enjoy are listening to, or watching, all the retrospectives, and stories about the previous year, in this case, 2018. I enjoy going back and reviewing the top headlines of the past year. As a matter of fact, over the weekend, on social media, we shared with y’all the top stories here at The Old School Patriot from 2018. Often we forget so much. I wonder if anyone, in 2019, will remember names like Christine Blasey Ford, Deborah Ramirez, Julie Swetnick, Andrew McCabe, James Comey, Peter Strzok, Lisa Paige, Bruce and Nellie Ohr, Christopher Steele, Fusion GPS, Cheryl Mills, Huma Abedin? I find it so very interesting how the media dictates to us who and what we should remember, what is important, and what is a tragedy based upon their complicit ideological agenda with the progressive socialist left.

So, as you come out of your New Years break, I would like to share with you a statistic from 2018 that did not make the news . . . and we should all consider this a tragedy.

As reported by Breitbart:

“Abortion was the number one cause of death worldwide in 2018, with more than 41 million children killed before birth, Worldometers reports.

As of December 31, 2018, there have been some 41.9 million abortions performed in the course of the year, Worldometers revealed. By contrast, 8.2 million people died from cancer in 2018, 5 million from smoking, and 1.7 million died of HIV/AIDS.

Worldometers — voted one of the best free reference websites by the American Library Association (ALA) — keeps a running tally through the year of major world statistics, including population, births, deaths, automobiles produced, books published, and CO2 emissions.

It also records the total number of abortions in the world, based on the latest statistics on abortions published by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Globally, just under a quarter of all pregnancies (23 percent) were ended by abortion in 2018, and for every 33 live births, ten infants were aborted.

There were more deaths from abortion in 2018 than all deaths from cancer, malaria, HIV/AIDS, smoking, alcohol, and traffic accidents combined.

The staggering number of deaths from abortion, in fact, has led certain observers to call abortion “the social justice cause of our time,” since judging from the sheer magnitude of the problem other human rights issues pale in comparison.

The year 2018 also saw the repeal of Ireland’s Eighth Amendment, one of the last laws recognizing and protecting the right to life of unborn children.

Last week, the UK Department of Health revealed that in 2017 — the last year for which it has revised abortion statistics — the number of UK abortions hit a 10-year high. The figures were released just before the Christian celebration of the Feast of the Holy Innocents on December 28, commemorating the decree by King Herod that all male children in Israel under the age of two were to be killed.

The annual March for Life in the United States will take place in Washington, D.C., on January 18, 2019 with the theme “Unique from Day One.” The stated purpose of the march is to end abortion by “uniting, educating, and mobilizing pro-life people in the public square.”

The Canaanite god, Moloch, would be very pleased to know how we are sacrificing our unborn children. This number is staggering, yet you will never see any commercial advertisements on TV to end the senseless murder of unborn babies. We see more TV ads about saving animals than unborn children. Heck, the incoming House Democrat majority wants to have killing unborn babies declared a human right. That was a story we shared with you in December of 2018.

Guess who was the major financial supporter of Ireland’s Eighth Amendment to its Constitution, and funded the repeal? Yes, none other than ol’ Geroge Soros.

Something tells me that we will not be seeing major news coverage of the annual March For Life from ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, MSNBC, or PBS like the anti-Second Amendment March for our Lives featuring David Hogg.

You just have to ask: why is the progressive socialist left is so enamored with the policy of wantonly killing unborn babies?

It is time we stop trying to sugar coat this, as we are facing a determined movement. And as we shared with you in 2018, there are even those who call themselves religious leaders supporting “abortion on demand” and late-term procedures that can only be classified as infanticide.

What is perplexing is that anyone taking a stance — a reasonable, principled, and logical stance — against this present scourge is denigrated and demonized as being anti-woman. I would sincerely like for someone to explain to me how can standing up for our first unalienable right, endowed from our Creator, Life, define you as being anti-anyone?

I realize that the progressive socialist left has been very adept at redefining language, thus, this is now about women’s reproductive rights, as if someone is trying to stop women from reproducing. Then again, the left is always creating new “rights” that align with their ideological agenda, regardless of the immoral nature of the said right.

If you recall, the intended purpose from Roe v Wade was to make this thing called abortion, “safe, legal and rare.” The fact that we had almost 42 million unborn babies murdered worldwide in 2018 tells me that this is not rare, rather it is an industry. It is an industry of murder which sadly, here in America, taxpayers are funding.

I want y’all to understand, you abort a mission . . . you kill an unborn child. How can it be deemed an individual right, a human right, to take, end the life of another? In today’s world, the killing of unborn children is not the answer.

How many potential Mother Theresas, Pope John Pauls, Lech Wałęsas, Margaret Thatchers, Dr. Martin Luther Kings, Rosa Parks — and many others who have so greatly contributed to our world — have been killed, mercilessly, tragically in the womb, before they could take their first breath?

There are many who would say that I should not speak of this issue if I ever want to return to political office. They would say that the progressive socialist left would use my words, distort them, and politically punish me. My response is that I do not live in fear of evil, as I believe that the light will cast out darkness.

If there is anyone proud of the fact that worldwide the greatest cause of death was our own allowing the murder of our unborn babies, you live in a dark place. I will pray for you, but I will not stop casting a very bright light on this, which is the “social justice cause of our time.”

Not on my watch . . . What about yours?
