Allen West Old School Patriot Colin Kaepernick

An Appropriate Award for Colin Kaepernick

In Culture, Front Page by Allen West

Greetings, everyone, from the beautiful, serene, and spectacular Cayman Brac Beach Resort and Dive Center. I am here with the Dive Pirates Foundation crew, certifying more adaptive divers in open water. The Reconnaissance Marine community and I are sponsoring one of the divers. His name is Major Waheed “Wu” Khan, a stellar former Marine officer who sadly lost the use of his legs in a motorcycle accident, when he was struck. Here at Dive Pirates we live by the motto, “We no longer see Disabilities, We see Possibilities.” Sunday was our first day of diving, and watching Wu get back into the water after some 10 years was just heart-wrenching. Of course, he must use his hands and arms as his main propellers through the water. But, hey, the fella was a recon Marine, if anyone can hack it, he certainly can.

Providing opportunities for men and women like Wu is what America is all about. We must never forget, “some gave all, all gave some,” and we must live our lives to honor the service, sacrifice, and commitment that they rendered to this great nation.

And, so, I must write this very telling missive about how freaking stupid we have become in America when we idolize “social justice” athletes over men in women who have served this country honorably. A man like Major Khan, who legally migrated to the United States as a young teenager from England, and enlisted in the Marine Corps, is here at Cayman Brac. However, it was just announced that someone the antithesis of Major Khan is gonna be getting an award, one deemed prestigious.

As reported by the Yardbarker:

“The accolades continue to pour in for football player turned activist Colin Kaepernick. After having been handed both the Amnesty International Ambassador of Conscience Award and the National Education Association Human and Civil Rights Award earlier this year, Harvard University will now recognize the free agent quarterback.

According to CBS Boston, the Super Bowl quarterback will receive the school’s W.E.B. Du Bois Medal. It’s considered “Harvard’s highest honor in the field of African and African American studies.” Kaepernick will be presented the medal at the Hutchins Center in Cambridge on Oct. 11. The medal is named after a sociologist in Du Bois, who challenged social and racial norms during a time of racial proliferation in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Du Bois himself was a graduate of Harvard.”

This is indeed quite a fitting recognition for ol’ Colin. See, that little secret, well, truth, that many do not know about W.E.B. Du Bois is that he was an avowed socialist — not just a sociologist, and a communist — but someone, in the end, who renounced his US citizenship. Yep, if there is anyone fully deserving of an award named after Du Bois, it is Colin Kaepernick.

Yes, I know, there are some of you running to Google or some other search engine to confirm or deny what I just asserted. You will find it to be 100 percent factual. Unlike progressive socialists, or Barack Obama, we do not lie here at this website. As well, that venerable organization for which Dr. Du Bois is given so much credit for, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), was not founded by Dr. Du Bois, it was established, founded, supported by three white. leftist, progressive, socialists.

See, those leftists, in conjunction with Dr. Du Bois, came up with this concept of a black elite called the “talented tenth.. These were actually nothing more than the accepted blacks who would be welcomed into white, liberal, progressive intellectualism, and be used to suppress the real “soul of black folks.”

What white progressives wanted, and were successful in doing, was to create a counter to the work of the Father of Black Conservatism, Booker T. Washington. Just as with white progressives, there was a move set in motion to establish, and maintain, a leftist black elite that would do the bidding of the leftist whites . . . and, yep, it continues to this day.

Down South we had those groups like the “Jack and Jill Club,” — now, that’s old school — but some of you know what I am talking about. Schools like Howard, Hampton, Tuskegee, Morehouse, Spelman, and other Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) that were established by white Republican philanthropists, have become the new incubators for the talented tenth.

Ask yourselves: when was the last time that a conservative Black was invited to speak at Harvard, or the aforementioned HBCUs? Yet, here we have Colin Kaepernick — not Clarence Thomas, or Herman Cain — receiving this award. Then again, not only are they not to be considered, they would probably not accept.

It’s time the truth comes out: white progressive socialists have duped, and played, the Black community like a cheap banjo for many years. They have also enlisted the support of certain black intelligentsia they have deemed worthy — actually, complicit — as the gate-keepers, the new overseers on the 21st century economic plantation. These “talented tenth” are welcomed by the left because they tow the line, and proliferate the left’s message.

I find it so very interesting that the schism between Du Bois and Booker T. Washington was fomented by white progressives. The two were once companions on the same team of education, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance. How interesting that history, according to the left, has somehow determined that it was Booker T. Washington who was a “sellout,” “Uncle Tom,” and other such denigrating and demeaning monikers the left, and their Black henchmen, use to this day . . . along with other more colorful pejoratives.

Ya know, next year, the National Rifle Association will issue its first Roy Innis Award. It will be going, posthumously, to a Black man who stood up to Chicago’s anti-gun laws, Otis McDonald. I have suggested to those at the American Conservative Union, who put on CPAC each year, to develop and present the Booker T. Washington Award. The first three should go to Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, and Shelby Steele. Of course, sadly, my recommendation fell silent. That’s a shame because the left has stolen the real story about Black principles and values. We are indeed conservative at heart. The Black community is one that embraces faith, family, individual responsibility, quality education, and service to the nation. But, from the time of the Lyndon Johnson administration, the left in America has had a full-fledged objective to fundamentally transform the Black community. It began with destroying the traditional Black family, then killing our Black unborn babies.

Those two genocidal movements are the legacy of W.E.B. Du Bois, and his white leftist supporters. Today’s NAACP does nothing to stop this massive killing field Black communities, like Chicago. But, these white leftists have found their new frontman, Colin Kaepernick, and doggone, they are going to hurl accolade upon accolade upon him for doing their dirty work.

W.E.B. Du Bois was an enabler to the decimation of the Black community. He was a man who rejected all things America for communism. I cannot think of anyone better right now to accept an award in his name than Colin Kaepernick.

Class is over, lesson complete.
