There are still those in Texas who believe “Turning Texas Blue” is a fantasy, something that will never happen. However, consider that the capital of Texas more resembles San Francisco than Texas. There is a reason why the last Democrat (socialist) Party presidential debate was held in Houston, where, in 2018, every Republican elected official was defeated. Who would have ever thought the Lone Star State would produce people like Robert Francis O’Rourke, or the Castro brothers, Julian and Joaquin?

Yes, things are changing here in Texas, and anyone denying this is a little delusional, setting this State up for a bad turn. It is imperative that here in Texas we see the infiltration of progressive socialism, and develop a focused strategy to defeat, stem its tide of absurdity. And if we are to be successful, we must look to our schools. I have and always will advocate for the most important elected position in America, school Board. As well, we must do a better job of restoring our once-venerable system of education, instead of this insidious system of indoctrination. And yes, that has infiltrated the colleges and universities here in Texas.

As reported by the Washington Examiner:

“Baylor University, a Baptist university in Texas, has arranged to have an “equity officer” investigate the motivations behind Young Americans for Freedom’s decision to host conservative commentator Ben Shapiro on campus in November. According to a press release from the Baylor chapter of YAF, Gamma Alpha Ypsilon (GAY), an unofficial gay rights student group, is responsible for pushing the university to hold meetings about campus speakers.

GAY was denied official charter status earlier this year following a May decision by the Board of Regents to uphold a ban on “advocacy groups which promote understandings of sexuality that are contrary to biblical teaching.”
The Baylor chapter of YAF claimed that the school’s president, Dr. Linda Livingstone, approached GAY to say that she was on its side — a contradiction of the ruling by the Board of Regents. Shortly after this meeting, YAF says, they were contacted by the school’s director of student activities to arrange meetings with GAY.

YAF Chair Zachary Miller said he was told the meetings would be “co-facilitated” by Brittney Wardlaw, Baylor’s manager of equity and civil rights. According to the faculty profile for Wardlaw, she “conducts investigations for claims related to discrimination and harassment around protected characteristics such as gender, race, ethnicity, disability, and veteran status. She also educates faculty, staff, and students on topics including implicit bias, explicit bias, and diversity.”

Miller told the Washington Examiner that Wardlaw was employed by Baylor’s Equity Office and not the Division of Student Life, which had planned the meetings between YAF and GAY.

Though GAY has not commented on Shapiro, several students associated with the group shared their displeasure at Shapiro’s campus appearance.”

I have been a speaker for YAF events quite often, most recently this summer in DC. There have been a number of vignettes of my campus appearances that have become popular videos. But, if there is one thing I despise it is this growing fascism on our college and university campuses, supported by these administrators and professors.

College campuses are supposed to be a place where there is a free flow and exchange of thoughts, perspectives, and ideals. It is a place where critical thinking should be developed by way of strenuous debate and meticulous analysis of facts, truth.

Speaking of which, some 500 scientists signed onto a letter debunking the so-called climate change models. Yet, we have kids skipping schools, taking to the streets, and admitting to depression over something that is a political, ideological agenda. That is what happens when our schools become centers of indoctrination.

Now, at Baylor University, we have a Kommissar, an “Equity Officer,” to adjudicate why a campus organization of young Conservatives should have their preferred speaker on campus. Heck, if young leftists wanted to have Bob Frank O’Rourke speak at Baylor University, does anyone believe that an “Equity Officer” would be called upon? I remember the foolishness I went through at St. Louis University, where even the school president took a denigrating cheap shot at me, a retired Army officer and former US Congress member.

This is what is happening all over America, and yes, here in Texas. You can bet that if any conservative student organization asked me to come and speak at certain campuses here in Texas, there would be an uproar. As a matter of fact, Charlie Kirk, head of Turning Point USA, disclosed to me recently that he was seriously concerned about his welfare when he spoke on the campus of the University of Texas.

How did we get to this point? When did we stop teaching, and embarked upon indoctrinating our children? And just know, this is not something new in the progressive socialist left handbook. But ask yourself, why is college tuition so high? It is simple: because we have to pay for equity and diversity officers, who do what? They do not teach, that is for sure. How much is being wasted, by way of tuition, to ensure the leftist strangleholds on our campuses remain?

Leftism is being grown, like cancer cells in Petri dishes, in our schools, and certainly on our college and university campuses. Equity officers are safeguarding these cancer cells, and eventually, the cancer is released into the greater American society.

Yes, there are young conservatives on these campuses doing their best to stay disease-free, and we need to make sure we are inoculated from this pestilence. Ladies and gents, nowhere is safe from this cancer, not even in Texas . . . not even on the campus of a Baptist university . . . Baylor.
