Racism is Dead . . .

In Front Page, Illegal immigration, US Constitution by Allen West

Yes, I know, there are people already making comments on this missive without even reading it. If there’s one thing that bothers me about the American public, it’s that we have been relegated to headline readers. Then again, that is exactly what a failing system of indoctrination has produced: less critical thinkers, and more soundbite mentalities.

No, the title of this missive is not so imbecilic as to suggest that racism is dead. That is not the case. What this missive suggests is that the real and true meaning of the word racism is dead.

Racism is defined as, “prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one’s own race is superior.”

Sadly, in the past week, and since 2008, the word racism has become nothing more than a political hammer that is cherry-picked to enable a certain ideological agenda. It has become a means by which one person leverages this emotionally charged allegation to force another into self-censorship, shutting down any real debate, discussion.

Last week began with House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, castigating President Trump as a racist because he sought the citizenship question, once again, as part of our US census. Are we to believe that everyone before President Trump, when the citizenship question existed, were racists committing an act of racism by determining the number of citizens in the United States of America?

The clear issue is that if you do not accept the progressive socialist left’s ideological agenda of open borders, sanctuary cities and states, and free taxpayer benefits to those entering our country illegally, you are then a racist.

In other words, the left associates defending our national sovereignty and abiding by our rule of law as “racist.” Therefore, they are comfortable declaring that the United States is a racist country. We even had to endure the delusional rantings of a mediocre former NFL player who demonized our founding flag, the Betsy Ross flag, as a racist symbol.

What was also very hypocritical — and yes, comical — last week was when Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez asserted that Speaker Nancy Pelosi was racist. That came after Speaker Pelosi publicly disciplined and showed her displeasure towards Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Ayanna Pressley for publicly attacking fellow members of the Democrat caucus.

Interesting, Nancy Pelosi refers to President Trump as a racist because he was seeking to uphold his constitutional duties. Then Pelosi is called a racist because she dared to fire back at the actions, behaviors, of some far-left progressive socialist radicals in her caucus. Is Nancy Pelosi a racist? Of course not, and it was President Trump who publicly said that, realizing that she would never defend him against such a charge.

What was the purpose of using the infamous “race card” against Speaker Pelosi? It’s simple, force her to shut up and not confront the “Girl Squad.”

How interesting to see former Vice President Joe Biden now be referred to as a racist. How long has Joe Biden been around in politics and all of a sudden his record on civil rights is questioned? Why wasn’t his record challenged when he was selected as Barack Obama’s running mate? Well, as Joe has learned, he is not the candidate the far left wants, so working with Democrat segregationist senators has resulted in his being denigrated as a racist, for which he had to apologize. Yes, Kamala Harris did a fantastic job attacking Biden on the debate stage. Now, Harris has come to the rescue of Nancy Pelosi declaring that she is not a racist . . . Yet, President Trump is still one to all progressive socialists.

Even South Bend Indiana Mayor, Pete Buttigieg, has been stung by the racism hornet. Due to issues in his leadership of the city, he has been called a racist. He has, in turn, called his police officers, you guessed it, racist.

Unless you have forgotten, any disagreement with the policies of one Barack Hussein Obama meant you were a racist. Now, were there some in America who could not fathom having a president of color, sure. At every turn, the response to criticism was “racism” regardless of the issue: Fast and Furious, a failing economy, a weak foreign and national security policy, IRS targeting of conservatives, Benghazi, and a desire to fundamentally transform America.

But what is very perplexing is that when it comes to real racism, the progressive socialist left and their media accomplices say nothing.

Do any of you recall the disgusting cartoons by Jeff Danziger, Pat Oliphant, and Gary Trudeau depicting National Security Adviser and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as an Aunt Jemima character or someone from “Gone With the Wind?” The cartoons depicted this highly intelligent woman of color as a big lipped, black mammy in love with her Massa. Was there any response or cry of racism? Nope.

I have had my own share of disgusting cartoons depicting me with big lips, gold teeth, and even beating white women. Yet, no calls of racism. As a matter of fact, black conservatives are constantly disparaged and viciously assailed by white progressive socialists, and there is never a mention of racism.

What about an organization that was founded by a white supremacist, racist, someone who referred to blacks as “undesirables” and “weeds?” That organization is Planned Parenthood, that person is Margaret Sanger, the person whose name is on an award given to Hillary Clinton, a presidential candidate. Somehow, that is never considered as racist.

Remember the accolades and fond words offered for former US Senator, Robert “Ku Klux Klan” Byrd of West Virginia, someone who was against the Civil Rights Act of 1964, when he passed away? I do not recall anyone mentioning the word racism.

Even on a memorable day like Juneteenth this year, when the focus should have been on economic emancipation, the progressive socialist left was holding hearings in Washington, DC, on slave reparations. I must wholeheartedly admit I cannot think of anything more racist than to further demean blacks with a slave mentality.

Therefore, I say real racism is dead, as the word is meaningless. It’s just another political talking point. What is clearly recognizable is that the political party responsible for the history of racism in America, are the ones today decrying it for their electoral, and political, gain.
